New Castle County's Department of Public Safety is offering free classes for community organizations. Civic groups, volunteer clubs, religious groups and others are invited to join the
Community Emergency Response Team.

The training is divided into eight modules focused on aspects of diaster response, such as first aid and light search and rescue. The next class dates are May 12, 13 and 20 in Newark followed by July 21,22 and 29 in Middletown. To register or for more information, call the Office of emergency Management at 395-3600.
